Thank you Rashmi, this is strathmore series 500 smooth finish. It's toned using graphite powder and charcoal powder and yes, then working on the face

Could you tell me what kind of paper this is.

Is it white paper , first shaded with light graphite and then working on the face?

Thanks so much Prosenjit and George! Yes George, I'll try posting a few more but maybe in another blog. Better still, if anyone would like to see the original at this stage (and the original of "Meghna") with a few comments from me, let me know and maybe something could be worked out.

It's brilliant already. It's so surreal looking at this in this stage. Like looking at a tracking sheet laid over a photograph. Are you going to post more stages along the way?
