Every morning when my father wakes up, the sunrays fall on him with renewed vigour, bringing in hope of a new beginning - of better ideas…of enhanced sensitiveness towards the deserving. He eagerly holds the newspaper, expecting to read some encouraging news hitting the headlines. However, invariably and more frequently than he would like it, he is greeted by news depicting the sad state of affairs - one more scam…one more tainted public figure…one more example of government incapability and impotency... He holds the news paper to realize that the world has not changed much…It’s the same old story in fresh words, in some other part of the world, involving some more misjudgments, corrupting more innocent lives…and he exclaims…it’s the same old story…the world hasn’t changed much…until he picks up the news paper of the next day!

Thank you guys...just was a little apprehensive about the wooden door behind the figure...was not sure whether I should do it as it was becoming too dark and was stealing the focus out of the subject...Nonetheless...went ahead...ab toh jo honaa thaa woh ho gayaa...I hope it goes well with the drawing as a whole.

@Prosenjit: Yes! I cannot agree more to the fact that when drawing/studying  figures, its very important to get a good reference - and with the correct light & shade, posture, etc...everything else becomes so much more easier & effective!

Easily one of your best yet! Great work.

This amazing work (I know, 'amazing' reads unbearably cliched and does disservice to the drawing) shows why using a good reference is essential if we are too expect good results. Your deep understanding of tones, superb drawing, sensitive portrayal, and what impresses me most - your application, is in full display. Thank you for being such a wonderful contributor to this community! (( applause ))
