A community for people who love the Visual Arts
We all met at Indian Institiute of Science campus for the Sunday Pencil Jam. Their canteen happens to be right at the gate, so it was a convenient meeting point , coffee and breakfast and some sketching ensued here. Then we moved inside the campus. One bunch settled near the Stone Arch with an department building on one side to sketch. Aslan and another shy dog gave us plenty company, and refused to pose for long in one spot. Some other jammers moved right upto the Ecology Dept and saw their labs, which was part of the original plan. Then some went sketching near the main building which has statues of Tata scion founder Jamshedji Tata, and tall twin bell towers. Amrita who works at IISc was a guide to the place and also took lots of pictures.
Plenty old trees, creepers flowing over stone arches, lots of bright red post boxes :) It was a different quaint world inside.
Would love to see pics that everyone else took. These are some from my phone.
Thanks for the pictures and informative report Ramya. Yes, Sunday was quite an experience and all of us enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and sketching on the campus.
Those buildings, whew! Such a treat.
