What a full filling day today!

It was energizing to walk around the big and beautiful temple. Looks like we can draw 365 days!

There is a pleasant mandapam inside the temple with lovely view points. We had nice time sketching various subjects. Lot of activities around the temple with flower shops, etc. Couple of us sketched out side the temple. We all gathered near mandapam in front of the temple by 11:00 and spoke about gesture drawing. Also had nice review session of our drawings.

Our new member today was Ganapathy's mother. She did a quick and clean sketch and proved the source of GS art journey!

Kalpana's water color work was very impressive.

Nithya, Anbu and Amiltha made plenty of quick and pretty sketches.

Sangeetha made lovely decorated door.

Balaji's pen work impressed us very much.

Ganapathy's Gopuram made us wow!

I did two line drawings today. Wanted to make 5 to practice gesture. It was challenging to limit myself away from the details.

It was interesting that one boy joined us after watching us for some time. His temple attempts were amazing for his age. I forget to click him and his work. It is in my mind to continue inspire me..

Thank you Prabha.

I am looking forward to seeing your work here.

I finally completed the second sketch. Actually it took me only another 30 to 40 minutes (making it a total of somewhere between 60 to 80 minutes in all to do this one), but I could find the time only last evening. Moreover, I had requested Kalpana to take a photograph of this view for my reference and she was able to send it to me only yesterday.

Beautiful! I love the manner in which you have dealt with the gopuram. and a great composition with the mandapam, with the statues and the people!

Beautiful Balaji  !

I did five rapid sketches. I spent more time on the garland lane and the street house sketches. After our post-sketching session on gesture drawing I tried a 3-minute sketch from exactly where I was sitting during Murali's talk. This is the last sketch in this set.

I would like to go back and sketch the other interesting streets including the vegetable bazaar and petty shops on the by-lanes.

Your spontaneous sketching are too good. I am in love with all.

Still your observations and details are too good. Loved the way the beak of peacock is done! Mylai Mayil !!!

Your sketches capture the mood and essence of the subject extremely will. I think the gesture exercises that GS put us through at Semmozhi Poonga will eventually lead us to the stage that you are at. And this stage - gesture sketches - is what Murali has strongly recommended for our group in the next few weekend meets.

Absolutely love all 5 of them. Particularly since I saw you draw a few and your speed is just too amazing :) I think you are already a gesture specialist!

Nithya ,ellamae romba jora irukku .

Wow! good to see the rapid updates! Nice sketches!

Murali, the colored sheets have enhanced your work.

Balaji, very beautiful. cant wait to see the other picture completed. Your goal of creating atleast one complete picture, is something everyone should think about.

Nithya, very nice pictures! each one telling a story! enough details to create the illusion of something real happening!

Here is my sketch. Not too thrilled about outcome. but enjoyed the sketch studying the Gopuram! The salvage attempt should be obvious here :)

Imposing tower is too good!

People of various size adds good perspective.
