Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain turned out to be a boy's fantasy park, what with a steam engine greeting us at the entrance.
This enclosure also has the Armed Forces Garden, landscaped and maintained (very well) by the Army, so the memorial to the Kargil martyrs brought in a solemn note, and the Energy Park with the working windmill was the third part of this. This place still needs to be checked out in detail.
The IG Musical fountain has two shows at 7 pm and 8 pm each for half an hour.
This park opens at 6 am for walkers, and a nominal fee is charged if you are there after 9 am. We had no problems about photography or sketching here.
For future reference - if sitting beneath the trees bring a good mosquito repellent, the mosquitoes were chewing Ramya and me, but the guys out in the sun had no problems.
Nice pics, Nandita! The mood of a lazy Sunday morning, well captured. The park is quite an amazing place, with unexpected props and thingys. Surely worth a visit again, if only to stay back and catch the musical fountain later in the day.
