Congrats CWA! We are getting into another very interesting project now.
It is Mylapore Festival 2014. Link

GS and me had discussions with Mr Vincent desouza today regarding CWA's participation. Here are the key points:
1. We are getting our own bigger stall to exhibit and sell our art works.
2. Our CWA sketches done during Navarathri will be featured in one of the stall of Mylapore Times. Prints of the copies will be used.
3. Our Flashback art works may be exhibited at a dedicated showcase place of Flashback (yes. it is exhibited again in Mylapore Festival). Not yet concluded on this.

We need more volunteers this time for the entire day and manage the exhibition and sales. Belive me this is going to fly...

Vincent suggested us to do smaller works and have lesser prices so that general public coming for the festival can afford and buy. This does not mean that we should not bring our bigger works. The bottom line is to make sure that it sells so that every one is benfited.

Theme: "Heritage and Culture"
By and large we have decided to work in this broder theme since we like to inspire people around us with our proud heritage and culture. And there is a good demand for these subjects with art lovers.
What to draw? Subjects for drawing are unlimted - All the temples, our dance forms, cultural events (pongal, temple car festivals), customs and more...

You can also bring your art works other than this. But try your best to stick to this theme.

It is preferable to do small formates so that less price so that more people can afford and better sale - Art for all after all!

It is recommended to do your own framing if needed and bring the art work to the venue. We are not going to restrict based on quality, etc this time. You are your own judge. If you think you can sell, please bring!

CWA members (should have come to Sunday meeting atleast once) Only can participate.

In this Album/Thread, kindly share the art works that you are about to bring for sale so that we can understand the types and number of works coming for our stall.
PLEASE DO NOT CREATE More Albums for this project.

We will keep you updated..

Dear Friends,  Few points:
Remember the dates 9th to 12th.

Bring your art works if you think you can sell to the venue directly either framed/ mounted/ as it is.
Pricing - To be kept low. Since this is going to be "ART 4 ALL". If your drawing now, make sure you draw small so that we can sell for lesser price like 500 or less!
You decide the price and write it in the back so that volunteers can use it for selling.
We will also be exhibiting and selling our art works done during cinema Flashback.
You can think of doing on the spot portrait sketch, etc during the event.

Our Mylapore Doll bazar sketches will be exhibited in a separate section! There is going to be good crowd during the evening. Try to be there. We need more volunteers.

12th is important date. 3 things happen.
1. CWA meet venue is our Stall. Lets sketch the Mylapore festival (during all the days 9-12th).
2. Anupam Konwar (renowned watercolorist) is giving us a demo by 9:00 am.
3. Graffiti by CWA and Mylapore kids at a wall near the Temple.
